  8.      Phonos - The Digital SoundShop, a Windows 3.1-based multimedia software 
  9. application, is an industry breakthrough for audio-editing aficionados.  
  10. Phonos allows you, whether audio professional, church sound personnel, 
  11. or home computer user, to change forever the way you edit sound and/or 
  12. music. Phonos allows you to record your selection directly onto the hard 
  13. drive of your computer and, with ease, edit that recording in ways only

  15. machine, without Phonos, edits still need to be made by splicing tape,

  29.       Phonos performs several tasks.  Just a few are listed below:

  32.     *  Recording  -  You can record (8-bit - Shareware Version) live 
  33.              directly into your computer from a microphone or 
  34.              from a previously recorded tape through a line-in 
  35.              jack on your sound card.  Your "WaveFiles" 
  36.              (recorded selections) can be recorded in either 
  37.              mono or stereo (mono only for Shareware Version).

  39.     *  Mixing  -  You can mix another pre-recorded selection from any 
  40.               point within the current one.  Two examples would be 
  41.               1) adding a drum roll to a music selection.           
  42.               2) adding music to a speech.

  44.     *  Adjusting Volume  -  You may increase or decrease the volume of 
  45.                 the current selection.  
  46.  
  47.     *  Echoing  -  You can also add an echo, or reverb effect.

  49.     *  Undoing Changes  -  You may easily revert back to a previous 
  50.                    edit. You may make up to three edits without 
  51.                    disturbing your original recording.

  53.     *  Zooming  -  You may easily zoom-in on pre-defined marked areas, 
  54.                so that you might remove "pops", glitches, or any
  55.                other audio scars.

  58.      A Phonos exclusive incorporates the concept of "ClipAreas" and 
  59. "ClipFiles".  ClipAreas are "pieces" of your recorded selections that you 
  60. name and save in related groups, or ClipFiles.  These ClipAreas can be 
  61. inserted, mixed, and deleted from any combination of pre-recorded 
  62. selections. They, themselves, can even be edited!  This gives you the
  63. incredible ability to delete those irritating coughs, add background music,
  64. or simply enhance a recording.  Phonos' Shareware Version allows you to
  65. create ClipAreas, however, does not allow them to be saved into ClipFiles.
